Boudoir Marathon Weekend May 30-31

Posted on: April 21, 2009

Hi there!

I am offering a boudoir photography marathon weekend on May 30-31, 10am-6pm (6 time slots per day available). I will be shooting with another photographer, Michelle Murray, from WOW Photography, www.wildorchidweddings.ca  who I also shoot weddings with and we are a great team.

Past clients have expressed that it was the best gift they could ever give their partner. And if you don’t have a partner consider doing it for YOU…you are worth it J

Please forward this email on to any friends or family you think might be interested. THANK YOU for your support!

i love Graphi Studio…

Posted on: April 3, 2009

I went down to Seattle yesterday and attended a really awesome seminar that was FREE, yes didn’t have to pay a thing, put on by Graphi Studio with guest speaker Jim Garner, a very innovative cutting edge photographer in Seattle. For those of you who don’t know who Graphi is they are an amazing album company and their product is not only gorgeous, but also made in Italy…and all i can say is quality. My wedding clients that have ordered this book in the past have absolutely been blown away by the final product and rave about it to their family and friends. Another bonus is that is you can  order and design the album online now with the free graphi software. Check out the site at www.graphistudio.com and consider ordering the sample books to show clients. I am telling you that this company has changed the way i do business and i only have good things to say about the book and the rep’s who promote it in the US.

I thought i would post these comments by bella, the gorgeous girl i photographed with her two brothers below. so sweet of her to write what she did….

“I have had great experiences with Sig as a photographer. Sig had a plan to get some great pictures of my brothers and I and we made a book of pictures for my mom and dad for Christmas. I loved having Sig do pictures for us it was awesome. It was really cool because she was so involved with us even when she was taking pictures, she was talking to us and telling us we were doing a great job. Some how she always manages to get people to smile so naturally, even my younger brother was smiling (now that’s a good sign of an amazing photographer!)  The pictures we ended up with were great and mom and dad were so happy. We all had so much fun!” bella

i had a photoshoot with bella, max, and basil recently,  and they were amazing in front of the camera.  i took them to various locations, had them bring a few different outfits, and they really got into it. the way they naturally posed made my job so easy. we went to the roundhouse community centre down in yaletown first, then did some shots under the burrard bridge, then onto a cool railroad track in burnaby.  they all really loved mixing it up with the different locations and had some great ideas which resulted in some great shots. we ended at rocky mountain chocolate outlet for a well deserved treat. i was having so much fun with them that  i didn’t want the session to end. (note to self….when going out on photoshoots with kids, let them pick their outfits, help with posing..make it a really comfortable place for them and give them a voice and their true spirits will come out. give up the power, let them run the show…you won’t be disappointed).

thank you bella max and bas for hanging out with me and being such great sports about it….you are truly amazing kids and you taught me more than you will ever know.

definately one of the top 10 photoshoots of my career. photography is about connecting with people and having fun and we so went beyond that.

they ended up surprising their parents with a funky album which each of the kids want a copy of.

welcome Shine to the world of blogging….

Posted on: February 9, 2009

today on this glorious sunny day in vancouver, i am entering the world of blogging! i’ve often wondered what a blog is anyway. i hear about them all the time and see them on various sites but thought i would look up the definition….”a shared on-line journal where people can post diary entries about their personal experiences and hobbies”. this is very cool….a virtual diary, an opportunity to share my photography, my experiences and thoughts about it with the world out there.

i wanted to share a few images from a shoot i did recently with one of my favorite family clients. I started photographing Marnie and Shawn’s family soon after their first child Liam was born. We formed an instant connection and we have had many great sessions together since. The most recent was the day of the boys christening….decked out in bowties and kilts they were so adorable. i don’t know what we would have done without those fish crackers for Lachlan! thank you to marnie and shawn for trusting me to capture these special moments with you and your boys. i look forward to the next time we meet and seeing how the boys have grown…
